Cookie has been a long-term shelter resident for over a year. She had one litter of kittens while living outside and had been looked after by a family who fed her while living outside in the North End. They found a home for one of her kittens from her first litter that
was with her when they found her. She had her own big box with a heat lamp situated outside the kitchen area of the house. She was rescued when she was pregnant with her second litter of kittens and was in foster for an extended time. Some of her fur was burned off her
lower back from trying to keep warm under tailpipes from cars and she had an upper respiratory infection. She has a crooked tail and may have sustained injuries to her back when she might have been hit by a car.
She was one of Vincent's "harem" of girls with Mamew
and Suzie in the shelter. She was very quiet in the shelter and liked to guard the washroom sink as her domain at times. Once she was in foster for a short time before she was adopted, she was very talkative and affectionate and liked belly rubs. She was recently adopted
when the shelter was closing its space to a young woman and is enjoying condo living. It was a bit of an adjustment for her to get used to being an only pet. One of her kittens, Phantom is still in foster waiting for adoption.
