Tony: 7 year old short-haired male orange tabby
Tony has been through alot. He had been fed for over 9 months while he
was outside in the North End with other strays and ferals by volunteers
from Cat Tails Rescue. We were waiting for a foster home to open up for
him and we were just about to rescue him the next day in late fall as
the weather was getting colder when someone turned him in to the
Winnipeg Humane Society and told them he belonged to Cat Tails Rescue.
We were notified that he was there and we followed him there for over a
month. Tony had giardia and upper respiratory and was treated for both
but he continued to have loose stool and we were notified that just over
a month after he had been at the Winnipeg Humane Society that we had two
days to pick him up or he would be put to sleep. On very short notice,
we were able to find several volunteers to pick him up from WHS and
foster him on an emergency basis. We had traced his tattoo to a previous
owner who had given him away to an elderly woman with another cat.
Somehow he ended up on the streets to fend for himself. Tony has a
terrific personality and loves people. Tony is a big friendly love bug
who likes to be held like a baby and cuddled. He loves everyone and he
is very dog-like. He deserves to be a pampered puss after all that he
has been through. Tony the Tiger is enjoying being the king of his
castle and being spoiled rotten by his new owner after we had been
feeding him and he had been roughing it outside since last spring.
