Twiggy: short-haired female black smoke tabby
Twiggy came into rescue with Tommy and Samantha when they were trapped
as part of Project C.A.R.E. in the North End in the fall. Twiggy was
spayed at four months and she was very small (the size of a guinea pig)
when she was spayed. The three kittens may be related to each other. Cat
Tails Rescue took all three of them as they would have perished if
released back outside in the winter time. Twiggy was partially feral
when she came into rescue but she is now completely socialized. She is
very curious and dog-like and is very affectionate. She loves to be held
or to sit on the back of the couch with her two front legs on your
shoulders. She gets along well with other cats and kittens.
Twiggy may have some special needs later in life as she seems to have
suffered a significant injury when she was very young including a broken
jaw so her lower jaw did not grow at the same rate as her upper jaw and
her teeth do not align completely although she doesn’t have trouble
eating. Although her hearing seems fine, her left ear is a bit lower
than the right ear and she may be susceptible to ear infections and her
left eye does not close but her third eyelid closes over the eye to keep
it moist. She had a slight ear infection which has been treated and has
cleared up so she is ready for adoption now and would love to snuggle up
for a girl’s night in! She would love to be adopted with Samantha or
Tommy.
Twiggy is having a great time with her new feline sibling, Holly who was previously adopted from us a few years ago and her two doggie pals. She loves to hang out with the dogs and Holly is getting used to having a new feline pal after her male feline companion passed away from a brief illness
