About Cat Tails Rescue Inc.
Cat Tails Rescue Inc.’s Mission Statement:
Cat Tails Rescue is a no-kill shelter saving stray or abandoned cats and kittens from living on the street and adopting them to loving homes. Cat Tails Rescue serves the North End of Winnipeg where the need is greatest.
We provide temporary interim housing, vet assessment and shelter care and socialization
for stray or abandoned felines until they are adopted. We are the only shelter located in the North End of Winnipeg. We also take in feral cats and kittens to socialize them for
adoption, as time and space permits.
The vet care and assessment will include, but not be limited to, proper veterinary care, testing, vaccination, sterilization and socialization. No cat shall be euthanized unless deemed necessary by a certified veterinarian.
Our shelter cats are available for adoption and are vet checked, tested for FIV and leukemia, de-wormed, spayed or neutered and tattooed.
Cat Tails Rescue has saved over 500 cats and kittens over the past six years since our inception. There are currently 20 shelter cats and kittens waiting for new loving homes in foster care.
Cat Tails Rescue Inc. is operated entirely by volunteers with special food donation assistance from Friends Fundraising for Animal Shelters (F.F.A.S.) and depend on valued donations by the general
public.
Cat Tails Rescue Inc.:
* is a no kill shelter
* traps and rescues feral cats and kittens and socializes them for adoption
* saves cats and kittens slated to be euthanized
* emergency rescues of cats and kittens in perilous situations or
abandoned in homes,
warehouses, at our vet, Machray Animal Hospital or living outside
* rescues senior cats, siblings, pregnant moms, orphaned kittens and owner surrenders
* works with the community and other rescues and shelters to rescue and transfer
abandoned
or feral cats and kittens if Cat Tails Rescue Inc. Is unable to take them
* serves as a resource regarding cat and kitten health issues and management and trapping of
feral cat populations
* against de-clawing of cats
* accepts our adopted cats
or kittens back at a future time for re-adoption
